Things started off a bit rocky for the new endeavor headed up by Kinetic's own Ford expert, Tim Olsen as the Saleen broke a transmission during preliminary runs at the track. However, Olsen, Mark McDonald and the rest of the crew discovered the problem and fitted the 2005 Saleen with a new transmission before the final qualifying run.
