DiabloSport Trinity 2 PCM Swap with Justin Nunley's TRX - Video

In this video, Justin Nunley’s Ram TRX gets a power upgrade with the installation of a DiabloSport Trinity 2 tuner paired with a PCM swap. The process is designed for simplicity, requiring only basic hand tools and about an hour of work. The installation begins under the dash with a bypass module that connects near the OBD2 port, followed by retrieving the vehicle’s factory PCM data using the Trinity 2 device. Once the stock data is saved, the team moves under the hood to swap in the new PCM, located on the driver’s side of the engine bay.

After removing the engine cover and disconnecting the negative battery cable, the factory PCM is unbolted and replaced, with attention given to reconnecting the critical ground wire. The new PCM is then bolted in, the connectors reattached, and the battery reconnected. Once installed, the device “marries” the new PCM with the backed-up factory data to ensure proper communication. The system is then verified by starting the truck, confirming throttle response, and ensuring smooth operation before tuning begins.

With the new PCM active, the Trinity 2 tuner allows Justin to customize a variety of performance parameters, including throttle sensitivity, tire size calibration, fuel, spark, and rev/speed limiters. After completing the tune, the Trinity 2 is mounted on the windshield using a suction cup mount for real-time monitoring. The results speak for themselves: Justin’s TRX improved its quarter-mile performance, dropping from a 12.299-second run at 106 mph to 12.591 seconds at 108 mph, showing stronger top-end power and better overall response.
