Adjustable Parameters

Most supported vehicles offer the ability to remove the top speed limiter, adjust the speedometer for gear and tire size changes, modify transmission shifting, and much more! For a specific list of what parameters and modifiable options are available for your car or truck, select your ride from the pull down menu above.


To keep up with EPA regulations, many modern vehicles' engine management systems implement an 8 to 4 cylinder dropdown when the extra displacement is not needed (also known as "DOD"). The unfortunate part about this function is that, when coupled with many aftermarket performance exhaust systems, the sound in 4-cylinder mode is less than ideal. This parameter lets you deactivate that function for full time 8-cylinder operation and bring back the muscle car sound.

Eliminate the need for an external boost controller!? This parameter lets you dial in boost levels for more power out of your SRT-4 and take control of your turbo.? No other hardware necessary.

Larger wheels and tires are a popular performance and appearance upgrade for car and truck enthusiasts alike, but a tire diameter that is larger or smaller than the factory spec can make your speedometer read incorrectly. This parameter adjusts the signal to display a true speedometer and odometer reading again.

DiabloSport?s tunes are dialed in for most users, but also allow the option to add or remove rail pressure in your diesel motor at Wide Open Throttle in PSI. This can be used to lower the pressure when stacking with other devices that make power by increasing fuel pressure avoiding over fueling. It can also be increased to create additional power or smoke.

Most late-model musclecars with manual transmissions have an electronic "lock-out" that prevents the driver from selecting certain gears at certain speeds. All of our performance tunes automatically disable this function to let you row through all six gears like a real manual should!

Also known as Electronic Stability Programming, ESP assists the driviner in maintaining vehicle stability and control in adverse conditions. By default, ESP thresholds are reduced in the DiabloSport Performance Tunes, but in certain conditions, like racing, the stability control can work against driver inputs when pushing a vehicle to its limits. Selecting the ?Disable Traction Control? parameter will disable the ESP and ABS systems completely for use on the dyno, at the dragstrip, or even a road course.

All Diablosport handheld tuning devices are capable of monitoring a vehicle's "fuel trims" as a way of determining if the vehicle needs adjustment to its air/fuel ratio. Primarily intended for adjusting or compensating for different injector sizes, this parameter can also be used to tell the PCM that the vehicle has slightly smaller or larger injectors in order to dial in the vehicles fuel trims to ensure the best fuel economy at anything other than Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

Adjusts automatic transmission fluid line pressure at all times, from part throttle to WOT.

Adjust the idle speed on the fly.

Allows the user to reduce the time elapsed for the PCM to activate the intercooler pump after starting the engine.

All Diablosport handheld tuning devices are capable of monitoring a vehicle's "fuel trims" as a way of determining if the vehicle needs adjustment to its air/fuel ratio. This parameter allows the user to fine tune the Mass Airflow Meter curve to calibrate fueling for various aftermarket bolt-on modifications. Adjustment to the MAF Curve will add or remove fuel from the entire map from Idle to Wide Open Throttle.

Disable Autostick Auto Upshift - Automatic Dodge/Chrysler vehicles have a great feature called ?AutoStick? that lets the driver select each gear change with a push of the shifter lever.?? In the stock configuration, the transmission will still shift to the next gear when the engine hits a certain RPM, even in the Autostick mode.? Activating this parameter will let the driver hold the transmission in each gear as long as he wants.? Excellent for nights at the local dragstrip! (5 Speed Trans Only)

Adjust the factory engine RPM limit to a higher cutoff range.

(5-speed trans only) Most automatic cars have conservative shift point settings from the factory that ultimately compromise performance. This parameter allows the user to raise the shift points to 6000 or 6400 RPM, and can be activated from the Quick Adjust menu without retuning the vehicle.

Primarily intended for adjusting or compensating for different injector sizes, this parameter can also be used to tell the PCM that the vehicle has slightly smaller or larger injectors in order to dial in the vehicles fuel trims to ensure the best fuel economy at anything other than Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

Adjust the throttle response setting to takes out the "lag" associated with modern Drive-By-Wire throttle control.

Designed to eliminate the factory torque management system to put more of your engine's power directly to the ground. This feature is built into the tune so there is nothing to adjust.

Adjust intake and exhaust camshaft positions at wide-open-throttle (WOT) throughout the entire RPM range.

Adjusts the shift RPM at WOT (provided they do not exceed the rev limiters)

Disable the OEM active fuel management feature that forces the engine to use only 4 cylinders instead of all 8 cylinders. Available RPM ranges: 2000-4000 and 4000-7000 RPM. NOTE: Installation of aftermarket modifications (camshafts, stroker kits, etc.) will require a custom tune.

On many Ford vehicles, the shift pattern of the automatic transmission is based on counted tire revolutions, and this can be affected by tires that are significantly bigger or smaller than the stock diameter. Adjusting this parameter restores the correct shift pattern for proper performance with big tires. Formula 1:Tire Revolutions per mile = 20,168 / Measured Tire Height in inches. Formula 2: NOV = (Tire Revolutions per mile) x (axle ratio) / 60.

(5 Speed Trans Only) Changing the gears in your rear differential is an excellent way of improving acceleration and 'off the line' performance, but going to deeper gears will also make your speedometer read higher than the actual vehicle speed.? This parameter adjusts the speedometer signal to give you a true reading again. For use with most popular aftermarket gear ratios.

Allows the user to control the electric radiator cooling fans based on coolant temperature. This adjustment is often useful when switching to a cooler thermostat, or whenever greater airflow is needed, such as towing or even driving around town.

While DiabloSport?s Performance Tunes for diesel vehicles create massive HP and TQ gains, users may see fit to adjust the tune further by increasing their injection timing at Wide Open Throttle. This adjustment can help calibrate for aftermarket injectors or other parts that may be installed on the vehicle to make it run more efficiently.

Traction Control is a standard parameter in most vehicles that keeps the vehicle from spinning its tires in certain consitions like wet pavement. The Disable Traction Control parameter to increase the performance drivability of your vehicle which traction control normally fights against when in a performance situation at the track.

All of our Performance tunes have improved fuel mapping to add power and torque in a stock application, but for most gasoline applications our tuning devices allows the user to further adjust the Air/Fuel mixture to compensate for certain modifications. This includes, but is not limited to: Injector slope, WOT fueling, and adjustment for aftermarket injectors. The type of adjustment in supported applications will vary by vehicle type. NOTE: Many modifications, like aftermarket cams, stroker kits, etc., will still require a custom tune.

As you know most newer Ford engines have variable camshafts that move independently of each other throughout the power band in real time these functions can modify what we currently have set in the tune or the stock tune.

This will allow the end user to lock either front or rear axle using the tune. The axles will remain locked as long as the unit is displaying that screen. Once the screen is exited, the lock settings will go back to normal settings.

Intercooler Pump Delay Timer Adjust- allows the user to reduce the time delay for the PCM to turn on the intercooler pump after starting the engine.

Often stock shifting settings will cause the upshifts to occur at a low speed, causing the engine to "lug" under load because it's not working in its optimum power band. Our tuning device allows you to customize the transmission's shift points by MPH and RPM, so you can help your truck put down all of its available power for towing, steep grades, or hard acceleration.

(5 Speed Trans Only) Diablosport?s Electronic Shift Kit.? Most automatic cars and trucks have very conservative settings from the factory in regards to the feel of shifting through the gears. They?re calibrated to transition from gear to gear as smoothly as possible for the average driver, but many enthusiasts prefer a harder shift on each gear.? This parameter allows you to firm up the feel of the shifts, or restore it back to stock through the Quick Adjust Menu.

Disables the electronic "lock-out" that prevents the driver from selecting certain gears at certain speeds on manual transmissions.

Lowers the value of PSI at which the Tire Pressure warning light illuminates on the dash.? Since 2007 the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) has been a federally mandated safety item on all vehicles sold in the U.S., and it cannot be deactivated completely, but it can be lowered.? This is often useful for vehicles that are driven off-road, or even for dragstrip use.

Although our Performance tunes have improved fuel mapping to add power and torque in a stock application, our tuning devices allows the user to further adjust the Air/Fuel mixture at Wide Open Throttle to compensate for certain modifications in the RPM ranges (low and high) that need it most. NOTE: Many modifications, like aftermarket cams, stroker kits, etc., will still require a ustom tune and it is recommended to at least have a wideband Air/Fuel sensor installed before making these adjustments.

All of our Performance tunes have revised spark mapping to improve power, but changing conditions and certain modifications (like Nitrous Oxide or high octane race fuel) can benefit from further adjustment to the timing. Our tuning devices allow the user to take control of timing functions that were not previously accessible on a modern ignition system in different ways. The "Global Spark Adder" is similar to twisting the distributor on an engine equipped with one: it advances or retards your spark timing at all points along the curve in degrees. We also offer a separate parameter for Fords that allows you to select the RPM range that needs adjustment (low and high), rather than having to move the whole timing curve.

  1. Does the inTune include everything I need to tune my vehicle in the box?

    Yes- inTune includes an I-1000, a USB to mini-USB cable, a quick start guide, and an OBD-II Connection cable.

  2. Can I update the inTune on my Mac computer?

    Yes- the inTune is updatable using drag and drop functions on Macintosh computers.

  3. Is the inTune an App for iPhone or Android?

    No- the inTune is a color touch screen tuning device designed and manufactured by DiabloSport, Inc. While the unit may look like a smart phone it is actually smaller and more light weight than your typical android or iPhone device.

  4. What's the Difference Between the inTune and the Trinity?

    The Trinity and inTune share the same tuning parameters and tune options; however, the Trinity has a larger screen, better graphics, mounting solutions, virtual gauges, and a virtual drag strip. inTune is a simple handheld programmer that is designed to simply install a tune on a vehicle.

  5. How do I update my inTune to work on my car?

    The inTune features automatic updates when plugged in to USB on a windows PC with internet connection. Simply plug your inTune in, and it will contact DiabloSport's servers to download all of the necessary update files.

  6. Can the inTune be used as a monitor?

    No- The inTune is designed record data, but does not have gauges or monitoring functions.

  7. Does the inTune record/log data from a vehicle?

    Yes- the inTune will save up to 30 minutes of vehicle data. Data logs can be viewed with our free PC Software Data Viewer.

  8. Can I tune more than one vehicle with my inTune?

    Yes- inTune can be moved from vehicle to vehicle, but the tune can only be installed on ONE vehicle at a time.

  9. Does the inTune have to stay plugged in to my vehicle for it to have the tune?

    No- The inTune does not need to stay plugged in- the vehicle will be tuned until the factory settings are restored.

  10. Does the inTune I-1000 work on my 2011 or newer Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram?

    No- to tune any Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram vehicle, you will need the inTune I-1000DCX Part number.

  11. What's the difference between the inTune and the inTune DCX?

    The inTune and inTune DCX work on different vehicle years, check our fitment charts for more details.

  12. What's the difference between the inTune and the Predator?

    The inTune is the newest technology available from DiabloSport. It has a color touch screen, USB, and many other major upgrades. Predator has been discontinued as of November 2011.

  13. Does the inTune void my vehicle's warranty?

    No- the inTune does not leave any traces in your vehicle when you restore the original settings.

  14. What is the warranty on the inTune?

    The inTune has a one year warranty when purchased through an Authorized DiabloSport Dealer.
